Reminders
Planners:
In 4th grade, your child is responsible
for filling in their planner every day. Please help your
child keep up with their responsibility by signing/
initialing their planner every night.
Homework:
We believe that homework
provides children with essential practice with skills we
learn at school. It also teaches students responsibility.
Please remind your child to complete and return their
homework every day.
Reading:
Reading is an important part of your
child’s education. In grades Kindergarten through
second, they are learning to read. Starting in third
grade, they are reading to learn. It is imperative your
child reads at least 20 minutes each night. By reading
20 minutes each day, your child will have read 3,600
minutes in a school year, and your child’s vocabulary
will be 1,800,000 words!

Chocolate Bars
The money from selling candy bars is due
September 10.
Each candy bar costs $1.00. If you would like your
child to sell a second box, please write a note in
his/her planner giving your permission.
All candy bars must be sold—no partial boxes can
be returned.

Math Facts: Please help your child practice
their addition, subtraction, and multiplication facts daily.
They need to be FLUENT with their facts: this means,
when they see the problem, they should say the
answer automatically. They should not have to count
on their fingers, draw tally marks, or anything else.
Toys: Please make sure your child does not bring

Help Your Child Prepare for the School Day:
Please help your child prepare for the school day by doing the following:
 get a good night’s sleep (at least 8 - 10 hours)
 eat a healthy breakfast ( breakfast is provided for each child at school)
 arrive at school on time (8:20)
 have a positive “can do” attitude
 Plan ahead to ensure that your child is prepared: planner signed? Homework finished? Reading done?

In 4th grade, we have several SOARing expectations that we have of our students. Ask your child to share
the new Shawsheen Pledge we have at school! We say it every day after the Pledge of Allegiance.

hijo/a de escribir en su agenda todos los días. Por favor
ayude a su hijo/a en mantener al día con su
responsabilidad, en firmar/inicial en su agenda todas las
noches.
Tarea:
Nosotros creemos que la tarea que se le da
a los niños/as, le proporciona práctica esencial con las
habilidades que aprenden en la escuela. También les
ensena responsabilidad. Por favor, recuérdele a su
hijo/a que terminen su tarea y lo devuelvan a clase todos
los días.
Leer: Lectura es muy importante para la educación
de su hijo/a. En grados kínder a segundo su niño está
aprendido a leer. En tercer grado, ellos están leyendo
para aprender. Es imperativo que su hijo lee por lo
menos 20 minutos cada noche. ¡En leer 20 minutos
cada día, su hijo habrá leído 3.600 minutos en un año
escolar, y el vocabulario de su niño será 1.800.000

Varas de Chocolate
El dinero de la venta de los chocolates de debe
regresar a la escuela lo más tardar el
10 de septiembre.
Cada vara de dulce cuesta $1.00. Si le gustaría que su
niño/a venda otra caja, por favor escribe una nota
dentro de la agenda de su niño/a dando su permiso.
Todas las varas de chocolate necesitan que ser
vendidos – no se puede regresar un parte de los
chocolates

Ayude a sus niño/a en prepararse para clases:
Por favor ayude le a su niño/a este preparado para clase en hacienda lo siguiente:
 Tengan un buen sueno durante la noche (dormir por lo menos 8-10 horas cada noche)
 Coman un desayuno saludable (el desayuno se provea en la escuela cada mañana)
 Llegar a la escuela a tiempo (8:20a.m)
 Que tengan una actitud positive “YO PUEDO”
 Haga planes con anticipación, asegúrese que su hijo/a este preparado: ¿Su agenda está firmada? ¿Tarea
terminada? ¿Leo?

¡Hemos tenido un buen empiezo este año escolar y disfrutado en conocer a cada uno de los niño/a! En 4 º
grado tenemos altísimas expectativas con nuestros estudiantes. Pide le a su niño/a que le compartan la
Voto de Shawsheen, lo decimos todos los días después del Juramento de Lealtad.
