Maidique Campus, OM 370 Dr. Marial Iglesias Utset is the author of Metaforas del cambio: Vida cotidiana en Cuba, 1898-1902, a book on the political culture of the period of transition from Spanish rule, to U.S. occupation, to independence in Cuba. The book won the 2002 Clarence Haring Prize from the American Historical Association for the best book on Latin American history written by a Latin American. Dr. Iglesias holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Moscow and a Ph.D. in History from the Universidad de Ia Habana.
