Last weekend I had the blessing to impart a retreat to a group of 75 people in Birmingham, AL. Many of these people were not church goers and some claimed to have faith but didn’t practice it. It was amazing to see the change from the moment they arrived to the retreat on Friday morning to the time they departed back home on Sunday afternoon. They were smiling, some crying as they shared how this experience took their burdens away. Some were happy to know they were loved and accepted by God regardless of their mistakes in life. The grace of our Lord was abundant for each individual at that retreat. That same grace is waiting to be outpoured to anyone open to receive it. We are all familiar with today’s Gospel reading “The Prodigal Son”. It is a popular story that perhaps many of us can identify with, especially with the youngest son. If you have been away from God for a while and you are reading this little blurb, know that God is waiting for you with arms wide open. There is no grave sin He cannot forgive so do not be afraid. God is not waiting to punish you, on the contrary he wants to celebrate your return home. Do not let fear deter you from returning home. Just like the father in the story, God too is faithfully waiting to hug you and to tell you how much you are loved. There is a seat reserved at the table of the Lord and it has your name on it. Gracias por su apoyo! Vigésimo Cuarto Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario Del Escritorio de Fr. Bismarck ¡Bienvenido a Casa! ¡Bienvenido a casa!
