A DAY AT THE THEATER
A special afternoon for parents, grandparents, and children!
March 7/2015 from 2:30-4:30pm
Join us for a very special afternoon at the theater. Parents and grandparents will enjoy a
wonderful play called Guadalupe in the Guest Room, performed in English with Spanish captions,
while kids enjoy a ton of fun games and activities in the theater’s lobby. At this special
performance, all the words of the play will be translated into Spanish via a screen visible to
the audience. The performance will be in English and last from 3-4:30 pm.
ABOUT THE PLAY:
This beautiful new play introduces us to Guadalupe Castillo, a Mexican woman who moves
in with her son-in-law following the unexpected death of her daughter. Written by the rising
young playwright Tony Meneses, the play is a moving and funny celebration of life,
new beginnings, and the healing power of telenovelas.
FOR THE KIDS:
While the adults in the family watch the play, their children and grandchildren
will enjoy stories, theater games, and snacks in the theater lobby under the supervision
of bilingual teaching artists and babysitters. These family-friendly events will be
available between the hours of 2:30 and 4:30pm.
This special event is presented as part of Two River’s ongoing Nosotros series
and the New Jersey Theatre Alliance’s Stages Festival, the state’s largest
annual theater festival.
Tickets for this performance are $10;

¡Una tarde especial para los padres, los abuelos, y los niños!

Acompáñenos para una tarde muy especial en el teatro. Los padres y los abuelos
disfrutarán una maravillosa obra titulada Guadalupe en el Cuarto de Huéspedes intepretada
en inglés con subtítulos en español, mientras los niños disfrutan muchos juegos y actividades
divertidas en el vestíbulo del teatro. En esta función especial, todas las palabras de la obra
serán traducidas al español en una pantalla visible desde el público. La función dura desde
las 3 hasta las 4:30 de la tarde.
SOBRE LA OBRA:
Esta bellísima nueva obra nos presenta a Guadalupe Castillo, una mujer mexicana
quien se instala en casa de su yerno tras la muerte inesperada de su hija. Escrita por el
joven dramaturgo en ascenso Tony Meneses, la obra es una celebración conmovedora
y cómica de la vida, los nuevos comienzos, y el poder que tienen las telenovelas para sanar.
PARA LOS NIÑOS:
Mientras los adultos de la familia ven la obra, sus hijos y nietos disfrutarán de cuentos,
juegos teatrales, y meriendas en el vestíbulo del teatro bajo la supervision de artistas/
maestros y niñeros bilingües. Estos eventos para familiares y amigos estarán disponibles
entre las 2:30 y las 4:30 de la tarde.
