We have already been very busy in Pre

Welcome to Uriah Hill Pre-Kindergarten, where children learn through play! We have already
been very busy in Pre-K.
This month, we have spent a great deal of time learning school readiness skills including selfcare, turn-taking, listening to stories, waiting patiently, transitioning in the hallways, and
being respectful, responsible and safe in school.
We are also building relationships with other children and adults, learning to use words to
express feelings or needs, learning cooperative play skills and learning to follow routines.
We are learning all of this through song, dance, books read aloud, exploration, discovery and
play! In addition, your pre-kindergarteners had their first music and movement classes and we
had our first of five parent workshops.
In October, many more exciting experiences, events and activities are scheduled including the
start of our "Mad Science" classes, a trip to Outhouse Orchard (please volunteer to come
along), Picture Day, and "Come Play Our Way" night for parents. We will also continue to learn
letters, numbers, seasons, weather and "All About Me" in October.

home in your child's backpack for more details. Please remember to read and talk to your child
as often as you can...they have so much to share!

¡Bienvenidos a Uriah Hill Pre-K, donde los niños aprenden a través del juego! Ya hemos estado
muy ocupados en Pre-K.
Este mes, hemos pasado mucho tiempo aprendiendo habilidades escolares incluyendo el
cuidar de uno mismo, tomar turnos, escuchar historias, esperar con paciencia, cambiar de un
lugar o actividad a otra y ser respetuoso, responsable y seguro en la escuela.
También estamos construyendo relaciones con otros niños y adultos, aprendiendo a usar
palabras para expresar sentimientos o necesidades, aprendiendo habilidades para jugar
cooperativamente y aprendiendo a seguir rutinas.
Aprendemos todo esto a través de la canción, danza, libros, leer en voz alta, exploración,
descubrimiento y juego! Además, los niños(as) de Pre-K tuvieron sus primeras clases de música
y movimiento y tuvimos nuestro primer de cinco talleres para padres.
En octubre, mucho más actividades emocionantes están programadas. Tendremos clases de
"Ciencia loca", un viaje a la huerta Outhouse (por favor sea un voluntario(a) y venga con
nosotros), el día de las fotos, y la noche de "Venga y juegue de nuestra manera" para los
padres. También, seguiremos aprendiendo letras, números, estaciones, tiempo y “todo sobre
mi” en octubre.

información enviados a casa en la mochila de su niño(a) para más detalles. Recuerda por favor
a hablar y leer a su hijo(a) tan a menudo como usted pueda... los niños tienen mucho que
compartir!
