(The Best Photography Books of the Year)

Mientras un amplio sector del medio afirma que la fotografía vive tiempos difíciles, el libro fotográfico o fotolibro atraviesa un momento excelente apoyado por la atención prestada tanto por el mundo académico
como por el público. Las colecciones de este tipo de publicaciones
aumentan, surgen nuevas editoriales, revistas y librerías especializadas,
festivales y exposiciones monográficas.
Desde sus primeras ediciones, PHotoEspaña premia los mejores
libros de esta disciplina del año. Tras una convocatoria abierta, a la
que han concurrido autores y editores de todas las nacionalidades con
libros de fotografía impresos o en formato digital, publicados entre marzo de 2014 y marzo de 2015, un jurado especializado ha seleccionado
cerca de un centenar de títulos para esta exposición.
Los mejores libros de fotografía del año reúne los volúmenes más
destacados por su concepto, diseño y calidad gráfica. Entre ellos, un
comité compuesto por profesionales del sector editorial y del mundo
del arte escogerá a los ganadores de los premios PHotoEspaña al
mejor libro de fotografía en cuatro categorías: mejor libro de fotografíanacional, internacional, editorial destacada del año y mejor libro
autopublicado.
While a broad sector of the medium states that photography is going
through difficult times, the photography book, or photobook, is going
through an excellent moment supported by the attention granted both
by the academic world and the public. The collections of this type of
publication are increasing, new publishing houses are appearing, along
with magazines and specialised bookshops, festivals and monographic
exhibitions.
Since its first editions, PHotoEspaña has granted awards to the best
photography books of the year. Through an open challenge competition, to which authors and publishers of all nationalities have answered
with printed photography books or those in digital formats, published
between March 2014 and March 2015, a specialised jury have chosen
about a hundred publications for this exhibition.
The Best Photography Books of the Year brings together the volumes that are most outstanding due to their concept, design and
graphic quality. From among them a committee made up of professionals from the publishing sector and the world of art will choose the
winners of the PHotoEspaña Awards for the best photography book in
four categories: Best National Photography Book , Best International,
Outstanding Publisher and Best Self-Published Photography Book.
