SpanishPropertyReport INFORMATION YOU NEED BEFORE YOU KNOW IT Property Prices by Municipals Canary Islands 2012 2012 Property Prices by Municipals - Canary Islands Canary Islands Since 2005, when Fotocasa.es began producing these detailed reports on resale property in Spain, 526,770 real-estate offers have been advertised from the Canary Islands. Throughout the whole of 2012, a total of 109,318 properties have been promoted with Fotocasa.es - 9,048 for the month of December. For this study, Fotocasa.es has analysed data for 16 municipals on the Canary Islands. Between December 2011 and the same month in 2012, all municipals recorded a decrease in the value of their resale or second-hand property. The municipal of Adeje on Tenerife registered the smallest decline in property values in the last year at -3.0%. At the bottom end of the scale, Accerife registered the greatest drop in property value at -18.7%. Out of the 16 municipals, 6 of them have recorded real-estate decreases of two-digit figures. All municipals within the Canary Islands have registered average resale property values that fall below the national average of 1,891 euro/sq m for quite a while, and the situation has not changed in this respect. Precisely, property prices in the municipal of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria are closest in value to the national average at 1,770 euro/sq m. At the bottom end of the scale Santa Lucía de Tirajana is once again the municipal with the lowest average prices for resale properties - 1,060/euro sq m at the end of December 2012. Table 1.
