We Minister as Servants of Christ
Lord Teach Me To Pray
In the weeks to come, we will begin the
Stewardship of Ministry/Service. As we
prayerfully consider our personal involvement in
parish ministries and service, we will revisit the
Gospel of St. Matthew and a familiar image. In the
story of Christ’s sending of His Twelve Apostles,
we will discover revealing brushstrokes evident on
our contemporary canvas still. Called by Christ to
serve other, the disciples were equipped to do
much as their Savior had been doing. Today, we
extend a fruitful Catholic call through the many
ministries that originate in our parish – each a work
of faith, everyone a labor of love. As we look to
individual commitments, please begin to think and
pray about your involvement.
Lord Teach Me to Pray is a three-part prayer series
for women and men based on Ignatian Spirituality.
A women’s group on Part I "Praying Christian Virtues", (12-week program) starts at St. Clement in
the Parish Center on Thursday, September 15,
2016. "Praying Christian Virtues" helps to deepen
prayer life, and discover what to do for dryness and
obstacles in prayer. The group will use St. Ignatius' methods of meditation and contemplation.
Small groups of women will meet with their facilitators for 2 hours, once a week. To register please
visit lordteachmetopray.com or call Stephanie
Newell at 504-909-2010.
Women's Group Part 1 (12 weeks): Thursdays 9:00
-11:00 Parish Center (enter through side door) September 15th through December 8th.

Archbishop Gregory Aymond instituted 21 members
of the 2018 Diaconate Formation Group into the
ministry of lector. The ministry of lector is the second
step in the four-step formation process ending with
ordination in 2018 as a permanent deacon. As lectors,
the men are to proclaim the Word during liturgical
assemblies. The ministry of lector is one of two
ministries received prior to being ordained as a
deacon.
“Young Adult “Happy Hour”

Año Jubilar de la Misericordia
“Si alguno quiere seguirme y. . . prefiere.
. . más a su padre y a su madre, a su esposa y a
sus hijos, a sus hermanos, . . . más aún a sí
mismo” (Lucas 14:26). ¿Qué es lo que estamos
prefiriendo en este Año Jubilar de la
Misericordia?
