BVC is the Market Leader in Information Disclosure


A study by the CESA School of Business indicates that the capital market went from last to first
place in transparency and information disclosure.
With Corferias and Findeter, there are now 31 issuers with IR Recognition.
Bogotá, September 18, 2015. - The Colombian capital market came from last place in Latin
American markets in information disclosure and transparency to now become a leader, said BVC
CEO, Juan Pablo Córdoba, quoting the study submitted this week by CESA and the Colombian
Private Council on Competitiveness.
The research financed by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs and the World Bank
shows that in the total level of information disclosure per company, "in 2010, Colombia had a
total disclosure index of 54%, placing it in the penultimate place in the region. In 2013, the
situation was very different. Colombia occupied a leading position with a disclosure index of
76.67%, significantly exceeding that of the region.”
“We are very proud and satisfied, because we have been able to largely contribute to the goal
of making Colombia a benchmark for investment based on the quality of information its
companies provide. The most notable item is that with this voluntary initiative, we reached 31
companies in the exchange. These now include Corferias and Findeter, which add to the
commitment to go beyond the regulations and provide a vote of trust for investors," added
Córdoba.
Similarly, the BVC CEO expressed that there is significant progress with the submission of
sustainability reports, which required work together with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
Now, there are 26 companies that submit sustainability reports in line with the international
organization's standards.
“Good investor relations have greater relevance at times of uncertainty and volatility like now,
because it is when investors make decisions, and these must be based on accurate and timely
information," concluded the BVC CEO.
