August 29, 2013 Colombia: an example of good investor relations practices _________ Of the 140 issuers listed on the BVC, 29 received IR Recognition The Companies will present quarterly consolidated financial statements Investors will be able to access issuer's information in English and Spanish Cartagena de Indias.- From today, the Colombian capital market will have one of the most advanced and demanding Investor Relations and information disclosure models in the region. Twenty-nine of the major companies listed on the BVC committed to voluntarily raise their standards above Colombian legal requirements, which will positively position the local market in the eyes of international investors. According to the BVC, which recognized companies that met these parameters, one of the most important commitments assumed by these organizations is to guarantee the presentation of quarterly consolidated financial statements within a period of 30 days. This information will grant the market more transparency and quality, an essential foundation to promote decision making and increase trust in local and foreign investors. According to BVC CEO Juan Pablo Córdoba, "having the best companies committed to presenting more and better information regarding their projects and corporate management, makes us more reliable and aligns us with more developed countries." The CEO explained that disclosing consolidated financial statements allows investors to see the full picture of the company's administrative and investment management, which increases the Colombian securities market's visibility abroad. Meanwhile, the BVC's Commercial VP, Javier Díaz, said that the requirements that companies had to fulfill to receive recognition from the securities market are a very good start for a market that it is becoming more globalized every day. These included: creation of investor services offices; holding quarterly events to disclose results; and publication of information on issuer's websites both in English and Spanish. The BVC reported that organizations that received IR Recognition must renew their commitment annually. This guarantees that requirements demanded under the program will continue to be fulfilled. Likewise, the Colombian Securities Exchange underscored the deep commitment of the first group of companies to be recognized, and explained that next year, it hopes that all companies in the COLEQTY index will be involved this program.
